So, again, Live View is the ONLY view (minus that, you see nothing at all). Unlike older optical viewfinder tech that CaNikon and others still cling to (where the optical view finder can be switched to "Live View" with the mirror locked up), Sony changed that with SLT, eliminating the direct, reflected view projected onto on OVF, replacing it with full time Live View in the EVF (electronic view finder). With Sony SLT & mirrorless cameras "Live View" is the ONLY view through the EVF & LCD. ![]() Sounds intriguing, but reading & re-reading your post I'm having a hard time following: Maybe it's just semantics, but when you talk about seeing "Live View" vs "Slideshow View" you lose me. Now that I do know it's likely going to change, full live view for BIF and fast moving things could really come in handy. ![]() My A99ii has so far lived with it's display quality set to high and as I mostly never shoot mid/high FPS I've never really noticed. Change the Display quality to standard however and it will do live view in Low, Mid and High, only High+ reverts back to the old slide show. If set to high the A99ii will only display "live view" through the viewfinder in the Low FPS setting. ![]() The display quality setting have a rather big impact on things! Turns out there's a setting "behind the scenes" that influence how the camera handles. Learnt something new today while testing out how the A99ii does live view compared to slide show in the different FPS settings.
